Fitness and me go a long way together or should I say a long distance altogether. I always think about getting fit and start a routine only to leave it a while later. Earlier it was step aerobics and last year it was paleo. I lost weight only to gain it back in a short while. I was never fit. Dreams of a new routine to stay fit will often pop up and subside like a tide and ebb now and then.
This time it was a marathon. A finisher’s medal. It was ringing a bell after seeing a couple of my friends flaunt it in the FB pictures. Fine, this year its marathon then, I decided. When I was wondering where to start off there was a golden gate opening. A big time fitness enthusiast started a run club to unite people of similar interest and train and encourage them. I immediately enquired on the timings but never started. LOL.
I had to purchase a pair of running shoes, get myself ready, this and that in the planning phase and never started. The running group fitness mentor and trainer Pramod never gave up on me starting and finally there I was. Early in the morning out for a run. I never thought I could run for half a km but i did 2 on the first day. Fully motivated, I went on for a session of strength training and interval training. And it stopped. My work hours kind of interfered and I had to stop for a while.
Was on the progress of developing a good friendship and support circle like Pramod, Dhanu and Ramachandran but corona got ahead and disturbed the vigor. There are so many enthusiastic runners in the group who run and follow the routine dutifully ,come what may. I felt like I had to continue this at any cost. Also Pramod brings forth new routines to maintain the zeal as a first day experience.
For the corona lock down, he has suggested a 30 day ABS challenge and I am going to try that from tomorow. Will be sharing my daily routine. Lets see who wins now. 🙂
