I am a great fan of Dan Brown for his Da Vinci code, Angels and Demons and Deception Point. But got completely lost in the Lost symbol and went bonkers with Inferno. I was eagerly waiting for the next one Origin.
My husband, though tired ,drove me 10 kilometers to the only book store that had this book in stock. I was so excited and spent the whole night reading after making the kids sleep. I wholeheartedly believed that this will mark the Origin of Dan Brown’s era again. Sould I say no? That would be an understatement. I was devastated.
We all actually know to some extent that we all came to existence by a cosmic accident and are constantly evolving. Like the dinosaurs, we may also be extinct one day by natural causes. This book deals with a scientist building the most advanced super computer and simulates this scenario to prove it scientifically. Nothing more.
It’s all ok to get your doubts cleared through solid proof but then it’s no way a surprise to all. And it failed to satisfy the hype of answering ‘where do we come from? And where are we heading? ‘ to a great extent.
What I thought to be the Origin of Dan Brown’s era turned to be something more. It’s the origin of my reading other genre leaving out fiction, at least for a while.
Thumbline – If you had read Inferno fully and was not disappointed, then please go ahead and read it. If you were waiting for the best work of Dan brown, I would suggest you to wait because it didn’t happen this time.
